Stroll through the beautiful temple grounds and gaze at the striking St. George Utah Temple. Enjoy your time at this sacred, peaceful place.

Come to the site of the first temple completed in Utah by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Beginning in 1871, Latter-day Saints came from all over southern Utah to volunteer time, labor, and materials for the temple. Dedicated in 1877, the striking white monument was finished before the better-known Salt Lake Temple.

The temple is not open to visitors, but a free tour is available next door at the visitors' center. View short films and interactive videos that describe Church teachings concerning family relationships, the purpose of life, and the mission of Jesus Christ. Films are available in several languages.
